Nolensville is made up of about twenty-two neighborhoods, including Ballenger Farms, Benington, Bent Creek, Burk Hollow, and many others. Nolensville also has a rich history. A broken wagon wheel initiated the founding of Nolensville, Tennesse. Founded by William Nolen in 1797, Nolen was traversing with his family when his wagon wheel broke. He noticed the rich soil and resources in the land around him and choose to settle there. Nolensville was soon incorporated in 1839 when a large crowd of people began migrating from North Carolina. Throughout its history, Nolensville has been the center of much civil war lore, one of the first places to establish a creamery farm and becoming one of the first places in the country to offer public school in 1867. Near Nolensville Road between south Williams Road and Oldham Drive are various homes and buildings that are from the 1800s. Many are still in use as homes or commercial properties.
Since 1996, Nolensville has been growing economically and its population is growing more than ever. A large increase in homes has been developed around Nolensville. Many places like Bent Creek, Winterset Woods, Silver Stream, Stonebrook, Sunset Farms, McFarlin Pointe, Nolan Park, Summerlyn, and many other neighborhoods.
